Patricia Wormley
Reverend Charles W. Wormley is currently serving in his
fifteenth year as Pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist
Church, Spotsylvania County, VA,
where he was licensed and ordained in the Gospel Ministry in
1978 and 1980 respectively. Prior to coming to
Mt. Zion, he served at the
Chestnut
Grove Baptist
Church in Madison County,
for over fifteen years.
He is married to the former Patricia
Smith of Fredericksburg, VA.
They have four children and seven grandchildren.
Reverend Wormley
was born and reared in Spotsylvania County, VA.
He received his early
education in the Spotsylvania and City of
Fredericksburg public school systems graduating
from Walker
Grant High
School in 1965.
During his employment
with the City of Fredericksburg, he was able to attend classes at Germanna Community College,
the University of Maryland, and Virginia Commonwealth
University with a
concentration in Traffic Engineering and Electronics. He was
able to retire in June of 1999 from the City of
Fredericksburg
as Superintendent of the Traffic Engineering Department with
34 years of service. He
recently completed studies at the Fredericksburg Bible
Institute & Seminary achieving a Master's Degree in Religious
Education.
He
has served as Clerk of the Wayland Blue Ridge Baptist
Association, Moderator of the Ministers' and Deacons'
Union
of the Wayland Blue Ridge, and an instructor of the Wayland
Blue Ridge Church Institute.
He is a former Moderator of the Wayland Blue Ridge
Baptist Association, Inc., having served a five year tenure,
1998-2003. He is
also affiliated with the Mattaponi Baptist Association, where
he rose to 1st Vice Moderator.
He is also treasurer of the African-American Ministers
Fellowship and Alliance of Spotsylvania.
He is a preacher of the gospel of
Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Ghost, who not only
believes what he preaches, but is a living witness.
